Carrollwood Players Inc is a volunteer-driven, nonprofit 501(c)(3) community theatre based in Tampa, Florida. 📜 A Brief History
Carrollwood Players began in 1981 as a grassroots theatre group serving the Tampa area. At first, members met at the Carrollwood Recreation Center, and early shows—such as Plaza Suite—were staged in neighborhood venues.
Soon after, performances expanded into elementary schools, church auditoriums, and small clubhouses.
As a result, Carrollwood Players has grown into Tampa’s longest continuously operating community theatre, a milestone achieved through persistence and community support.
